The Outdoor Environment

Young children need daily outdoor experiences toenhance their rapid physical development. The out door environment is viewed as a place for the children to grow and learn.

Outdoor experiences will be planned to:

Allow children to develop gross motor skills. Each day activities are planned that will allow for the development of balance, coordination and strength.

Allow children to learn about the outdoor environment (water play, sand play and gardening offers opportunities for mathematical and science based activities).

Encourage children to be more physically active as inspired by “munch and move” (N.S.W. Health)
